Manufacturing Operations – Northeast Mississippi

Position Summary

The Supply Chain & Materials Manager is responsible for directing material planning, inventory control, purchasing coordination, and customer fulfillment activities within a high‑volume manufacturing facility. This role serves as the primary point of contact between operations, customers, and internal departments to ensure production requirements are met efficiently, on time, and within cost targets.

This position offers the opportunity to influence processes, lead teams, and drive measurable improvements across material flow and planning functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer interface for order fulfillment, delivery performance, and material‑related communication
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to develop production schedules, forecasts, and capacity alignment
  • Coordinate with engineering resources on new program introductions, bill‑of‑material accuracy, and change implementation
  • Support quality initiatives related to customer requirements and supplier performance
  • Collaborate with finance to maintain accurate inventory records and resolve discrepancies
  • Lead and develop materials, warehouse, and planning team members
  • Oversee purchasing activities, supplier releases, and inbound material flow
  • Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counting and adjustment controls
  • Establish department procedures, workflows, and operational standards
  • Participate in budgeting, cost tracking, and expense approvals
  • Track and report performance indicators on a recurring basis
  • Complete performance reviews and development planning for direct reports

  • Effective inventory turnover and days‑on‑hand management

  • Adherence to safety, housekeeping, and labor agreement requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing materials or logistics leadership
  • Working knowledge of automotive or high‑volume manufacturing processes
  • Experience with production planning systems and ERP/MRP tools
  • Understanding of bills of material and manufacturing workflows
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and numerical skills
  • Proficiency in standard business software (spreadsheets, documents, presentations, email)
  • Clear and professional communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Prior people‑management or supervisory experience
  • Background in developing and mentoring team members
  • Experience in complex Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturing environments
  • Hands‑on inventory control and warehouse operations exposure
  • Familiarity with enterprise planning systems such as SAP or similar platforms
