Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in supplier negotiation, developing commodity strategies, and driving metrics-based performance improvements. This role is pivotal in optimizing our supply chain processes, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining high-quality supplier relationships. This is an onsite position and can be located in Greensboro, NC or the great Toledo, OH area.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supplier Negotiation:
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supplier capabilities with business needs.

- Commodity Strategies:
- Develop and implement comprehensive commodity strategies that align with company objectives.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks associated with commodity sourcing.
- Manage and optimize a diverse portfolio of commodities to ensure cost-effectiveness and supply stability.

- Metrics-Driven Performance:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance and sourcing effectiveness.
- Analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance sourcing strategies.
- Prepare and present reports on sourcing metrics, supplier performance, and cost savings to management.

- Cost Management:
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement strategies to achieve savings targets.
- Monitor and control sourcing budgets to ensure financial objectives are met.

- Risk Management:
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance and commodity availability.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiation and developing commodity strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software/tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
