Position Overview

The facility in Tupelo, MS is seeking a Quality Lab Technician to support measurement accuracy, testing activities, and calibration processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring that components and products meet strict dimensional and quality standards. The technician will help maintain measurement integrity, support production troubleshooting, and assist with quality systems that contribute to customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

This position allows the right individual to make a meaningful impact on both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term improvements within the team.


Core Responsibilities

Measurement & Testing

  • Perform dimensional measurements and testing on all products associated with the facility’s manufacturing operations.
  • Create, adjust, and manage CMM programs used for inspection activities.
  • Generate dimensional reports based on customer expectations and project requirements.
  • Validate fixtures and finished goods through scheduled CMM verification.
  • Conduct dimensional assessments for both ongoing production and new program launches.

Quality & Calibration Support

  • Assist with resolving measurement‑related issues within production areas.
  • Support the calibration management process and maintain records, reports, and device histories.
  • Oversee proper usage and care of measurement equipment and master tools.
  • Coordinate training with production and quality teams regarding measurement procedures and equipment handling.
  • Participate in statistical evaluations, including MSA studies, for key measurement tools.

Documentation & Systems

  • Interpret and apply print specifications and functional requirements.
  • Contribute to reverse‑engineering activities for developing or modifying parts when required.
  • Follow relevant ISO guidelines to help maintain compliance with accreditation standards (including ISO/IEC 17025).
  • Assist with the development and upkeep of systems such as inspection request workflows, gauge calibration controls, data retention, and environmental controls for the laboratory.
  • Provide technical input to engineering teams and suppliers regarding conformity, measurement causes, and corrective actions.
  • Create documentation necessary for implementing and maintaining quality systems.
  • Ensure all work aligns with internal procedures, customer requirements, and the site’s quality management system.

Authority & Problem Prevention

  • Identify and document product, process, or system nonconformities.
  • Take action to prevent recurrence and support corrective and preventive initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in metrology, calibration, or a quality‑related technical environment.

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of measurement fundamentals, calibration concepts, and traceability requirements.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO/IEC 17025 is beneficial.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, measurement data, and dimensional specifications.
  • Competency in basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
