Job Description

Position Overview:
The Plant Human Resources Manager will serve as a key member of the plant leadership team, providing both strategic and hands-on HR support. This role will be responsible for fostering a highly engaged workforce, building strong relationships at all levels of the plant, and partnering with leadership to drive business performance through people. The ideal candidate brings proven HR generalist experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, with a balance of tactical execution and long-term strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to plant leadership, supervisors, and team members.

Partner with leadership on workforce planning, succession, and talent development.

Lead employee engagement initiatives that strengthen morale, reduce turnover, and build a positive workplace culture.

Maintain a consistent floor presence, building trust and approachability with all employees.

Provide guidance and support on performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.

Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and safety regulations.

Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and practices aligned with business objectives.

Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for hourly and salaried plant employees.

Lead training, development, and leadership coaching programs across the plant.

Collaborate with corporate HR to align plant-level practices with overall HR strategy.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

5+ years of progressive HR generalist or HR management experience in manufacturing; automotive experience preferred.

Strong background in employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives.

Proven ability to balance strategic HR planning with hands-on tactical execution.

Demonstrated experience coaching leaders and developing teams.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.

Solid knowledge of labor and employment laws and HR best practices.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, plant environment with a visible and approachable leadership style.
