Job Description

The Manager of Facilities, Maintenance & Safety is responsible for ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the distribution center. This role oversees all aspects of building safety and security, facilities management, and maintenance of automated machinery and systems. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong vendor management skills, technical knowledge across disciplines, and a deep understanding of safety protocols and building security.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the distribution center's facilities and maintenance operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure the optimal functioning of all equipment and systems.
- Coordinate and manage the work of maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Manage and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial targets.
- Plan and oversee building & equipment maintenance schedules to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure facility needs are met and support operational goals.
- Maintain records and documentation related to maintenance activities and equipment.

What we are seeking:
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities/maintenance management in a distribution center environment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance processes, and vendor management.
- Proficient in vendor management including negotiations and contracting.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing budgets.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
