Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Kansas City, KS. This is a fully onsite opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing power electronics packaging and be proficient in addressing shock, vibration, and thermal stress challenges within aerospace and defense applications.

The Opportunity:
- Design and develop mechanical packaging for power electronics systems.
- Perform analysis and testing to ensure designs meet shock, vibration, and thermal stress requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electronic components.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and test procedures.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for new projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in aerospace and defense.

What we are seeking:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, specifically in power electronics packaging.
- Expertise in handling shock, vibration, and thermal stress in designs.
- Experience in aerospace/defense and electronics.
- Proficiency in Solid Works CAD software and simulation tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
