Job Description

Our client is a leader in the food production industry, dedicated to innovation, sustainable practices and strategic growth.

They seek a Principal Engineer to manage multi-site design, engineering, and construction initiatives. You’ll be leveraging your expertise to enhance efficiency and foster innovation, while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure operational alignment with distribution objectives. This role is onsite with project-based travel up to 50%.

The enterprise has a mix of established and aging equipment, providing an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise and creativity to optimize and implement processes, improve efficiency, drive innovation and identify opportunities.

  • Drive efficiency in supply chain, distribution, and food-safe environment
  • Lead design, engineering, and feasibility studies for new projects
  • Manage onsite construction activities, including scheduling, budgeting, permitting, and vendor coordination
  • Research and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and safety
  • Embody a coach/player mentality, being both hands-on and coaching teams to achieve operational excellence, while creating training materials and SOPs for plant personnel

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Supply Chain, Automation/Robotics
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Proven success in development and project management with construction, infrastructure, manufacturing facilities
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in food manufacturing
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
  • Extensive experience with safety programs and protocols
  • Experience with industrial design, build, and large-scale remodel/retrofit projects
  • Advanced Excel experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks
