Role: Director, Human Resources Manufacturing (multi-site)
Location: Holly Springs, MS Area
Reports To: VP, Human Resources
Job Overview:
The Human Resources Director is responsible for developing strategies and managing HR resources across manufacturing and operational sites. This role ensures effective labor planning and allocation, enhances productivity through HR-related metrics, and builds strong partnerships with Operations and Manufacturing leaders. Additionally, the role leads key HR initiatives to support organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with business and manufacturing leaders to provide strategic and tactical support for teammates and labor relations activities. Offers leadership, coaching, and advice to ensure effective negotiation strategies and execution. Maintains positive relationships with union representatives and ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Analyzes and reports key operational HR metrics, such as turnover, retention, labor costs, and headcount. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on HR operational excellence and delivering high-quality HR systems and processes on time.
- Works across sites to identify areas of concern, define problems, collect data, verify facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interprets data related to employment laws and makes thoughtful recommendations for effective outcomes.
- Engages in complex discussions with management and teammates at all levels, making thoughtful decisions.
- Handles teammate relations issues and guides the development of site HRBP teams to create and implement corrective action plans that lead to lasting solutions.
- Partners with manufacturing leadership to design and deploy HR staffing strategies aligned with goals related to recruitment, engagement, and retention.
- Coordinates and implements policies, processes, training initiatives, and surveys to support human resource compliance and strategy needs across manufacturing sites.
- Oversees the administration of HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance management, recognition, and training programs to meet unique manufacturing needs.
- Analyzes and reports on operational metrics related to manufacturing trends, reviewing reports to assess progress, concerns, and areas for improvement.
- Ensures organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommending best practices and reviewing policies to maintain compliance.
- Stays informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR and talent management, applying this knowledge to communicate changes in policy and practice to senior management.
- Works with manufacturing HR teammates to identify areas for professional development, training, and certification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
- 10+ years of experience as an HRBP in a manufacturing environment or as a Business HRBP in the manufacturing industry. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred.
- Strong operational knowledge and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proven track record of leading end-to-end process improvement projects, identifying opportunities for enhancement, implementing solutions, and measuring results.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
