What you'll be doing

• Leading a civil construction crew on site while remaining actively involved in the work.
• Coordinating daily activities, labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Managing earthworks, drainage, roading and general civil construction activities.
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications.
• Ensuring projects meet programme, quality, environmental and health and safety requirements.
• Working closely with site supervisors, engineers and project managers.
• Mentoring your crew and maintaining productivity and a positive team environment.
• Identifying site challenges and coming up with practical solutions.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Civil Foreman, Leading Hand or senior civil construction worker ready to step up.
• Strong practical knowledge of civil construction, drainage and earthworks.
• Ability to operate machinery and lead by example on site.
• Experience reading plans, setting out and coordinating daily work.
• Good communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• A full NZ driver's licence.
• A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
