Were partnering with a well-established residential construction company with a strong reputation for delivering quality homes and developments across New Zealand. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Health & Safety Coordinator to support their Health & Safety Manager and wider site teams.
This role would suit someone who enjoys the administrative and compliance side of Health & Safety, while still being confident engaging with subcontractors and site teams.
As Health & Safety Coordinator, youll play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant and well-managed workplace across a busy residential construction environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing subcontractor Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) to ensure they are suitable for the scope and risk of work
Identifying gaps or missing controls in safety documentation and following up with subcontractors
Maintaining accurate H&S records, registers, reports and compliance documentation
Supporting subcontractor pre-qualification and contractor management processes
Assisting with site inspections, audits, corrective actions and incident reporting
Coordinating inductions, toolbox talks, training records and safety communications
Supporting emergency preparedness, site handovers, PPE, signage and noticeboards
Helping improve safety systems, processes and documentation across the business
Were looking for someone who is organised, calm under pressure and confident working with both office and site-based teams.
Youll ideally bring:
Previous experience in a Health & Safety Coordinator or similar role (at least 2 years)
Construction industry experience, ideally within residential construction
Experience reviewing SSSPs and contractor safety documentation
Strong understanding of risk management and H&S compliance
Excellent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
Confidence communicating with subcontractors, site teams and managers
Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence using digital safety systems
Full New Zealand drivers licence
H&S certification preferred
Current First Aid Certificate preferred
Salary of $80,000$90,000 depending on experience
