About the Role

Due to continued growth, an opportunity has become available for a Project Engineer to join a high-performing delivery team working across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.

Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects through planning, technical coordination, procurement, programming, quality assurance and commercial support.

This role offers excellent exposure to all aspects of project delivery and is ideal for someone looking to further develop their technical, commercial and leadership capabilities within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Technical Support

  • Assist with the planning, coordination and technical execution of projects

  • Support construction methodologies, sequencing and temporary works planning

  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, drawings, QA records and as-built information

  • Coordinate procurement activities, subcontractors and material deliveries

  • Monitor project programmes and proactively identify risks, delays and opportunities for improvement

  • Support the successful delivery of projects within programme, budget and quality requirements

Commercial & Project Coordination

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cost control

  • Support monthly claims, variations and project reporting

  • Monitor productivity and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Assist with contract administration and compliance requirements

Stakeholder Management & Site Coordination

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors

  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers

  • Maintain clear communication across project teams and stakeholders

  • Represent the business professionally both on site and externally

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ standards

  • Support site audits, inductions and quality assurance processes

  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications and company procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering

  • Experience within civil construction, infrastructure, utilities or renewable energy projects

  • Exposure to Three Waters or large-scale infrastructure projects (advantageous)

  • Sound understanding of project delivery and site operations

  • The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation

  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Commercial awareness with exposure to forecasting and cost management

  • A proactive attitude and desire to continue learning and developing

  • Strong relationship-building skills and a team-first approach

  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
