Civil Supervisor – Civil & 3 Waters
323 Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of a leading Civil and 3 Waters contractor based in Auckland. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, our client is seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to join their team in a full-time role based in Waitakere / West Auckland.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and hands-on Supervisor to take the lead on civil infrastructure and 3 Waters projects across the Auckland region. You will be responsible for managing site teams, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
About the Role
As Civil Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day site operations across a range of civil construction, drainage, utilities, and 3 Waters projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives, you will ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, specification, quality, and health and safety requirements.
This role would suit an experienced Supervisor with a strong civil construction background, practical leadership skills, and proven experience across drainage, water reticulation, earthworks, roading, or utilities. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Drainlayer or Certifying Drainlayer, or someone with strong drainage experience and relevant industry tickets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities across civil and 3 Waters projects
- Lead site crews, operators, labourers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Plan and allocate labour, plant, materials, and equipment to meet project requirements
- Read and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and construction documentation
- Monitor site progress and report regularly to project managers and engineers
- Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standard
- Oversee drainage, water reticulation, earthworks, trenching, reinstatement, and general civil works
- Liaise with clients, consultants, council representatives, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
- Identify and resolve site issues, programme risks, and construction challenges
- Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, QA documentation, toolbox talks, and health and safety records
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental, quality, and client requirements
- Mentor and support crew members to maintain strong productivity and site culture
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor, Site Supervisor, Foreman, or Leading Hand within civil construction
- Strong background in civil infrastructure, drainage, 3 Waters, earthworks, roading, utilities, or reinstatement works
- Registered Drainlayer or Certifying Drainlayer status would be highly advantageous
- Drainage tickets and/or water reticulation qualifications would also be highly regarded
- Experience supervising crews, subcontractors, plant, and day-to-day site operations
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, plans, levels, and specifications
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements on civil construction sites
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions on site
- Good communication skills and confidence liaising with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and site teams
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage programme, resources, and priorities
- A quality-focused approach and strong attention to detail
- A valid driver’s licence
- Relevant Site Safe, First Aid, WTR, confined space, STMS, or other civil construction tickets would also be beneficial
