About the Role
Due to continued growth, an opportunity has become available for a Project Engineer to join a high-performing delivery team working across a range of infrastructure projects.
This role will see you supporting the successful delivery of projects through planning, technical coordination, programming, procurement, QA and commercial support while working closely alongside Project Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors.
You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard while continuing to develop your technical, commercial and leadership capability within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Support
- Assist with the planning, technical execution and quality assurance of projects
- Support construction methodologies, sequencing and temporary works planning
- Coordinate and manage project documentation including RFIs, QA records, drawings and as-builts
- Assist with procurement, subcontractor coordination and material management
- Monitor project programmes and identify risks, delays or opportunities for improvement
- Support successful project delivery within budget, programme and quality expectations
Commercial & Project Coordination
- Assist with project budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking
- Support monthly claims, variations and project reporting
- Monitor productivity and help implement corrective actions where required
- Assist with contract administration and compliance requirements
Site Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors
- Build positive relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers
- Maintain strong communication across project teams and stakeholders
- Represent the business professionally both on site and externally
Health, Safety & Quality
- Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance with HSEQ standards
- Support site audits, inductions and quality assurance processes
- Ensure works are completed in line with project specifications and company procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
- Experience within civil construction, infrastructure, utilities or renewable energy projects
- Exposure to three waters or large-scale infrastructure projects is advantageous
- Strong understanding of project delivery and site operations
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Commercial awareness with exposure to forecasting and cost management
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Strong relationship-building skills and team-first mentality
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence
