Senior Concrete Supervisor - Commercial Concrete

We’re recruiting for an experienced Senior Concrete Superintendent to join a growing construction business delivering high-quality commercial, civil, and residential concrete projects across the Bay of Plenty.

The role
Reporting to the Concrete Manager, you’ll oversee 2-3 crews across active projects, managing both placing and finishing teams on major commercial pours. You’ll be responsible for planning work, coordinating resources, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to spec.

This role is predominantly site-based and requires someone practical, organised, hands-on, and confident leading large commercial concrete operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and coordinate 2-3 concrete crews across active projects
• Manage large commercial pours from set-up through to completion
• Oversee both placing and finishing teams
• Report directly to the Concrete Manager on programme, progress, quality, and resourcing
• Ensure sites are run safely, efficiently, and in line with programme
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, suppliers, concrete trucks, pumps, and plant
• Maintain strong QA, site reporting, and project documentation
• Resolve on-site issues quickly and effectively
• Support and hold teams accountable for safety, workmanship, and performance
• Build strong relationships with clients, site managers, and internal stakeholders

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in a senior concrete leadership role
• Strong background managing large commercial pours
• Proven experience operating a laser screed, or leading crews using one, is essential
• Ability to lead both placing and finishing teams
• Experience overseeing multiple crews on active sites
• A strong on-site presence and the ability to lead with confidence, credibility, and respect
• A practical leader who sets standards, makes decisions, and leads from the front
• Strong understanding of commercial concrete construction, site safety, and quality standards
• Good planning, communication, and reporting skills
• Experience with ride-on power trowels and large slab finishing is highly regarded
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
