We’re partnering with a well-established national construction contractor delivering a growing portfolio of commercial construction projects across Queenstown, Wanaka and Arrowtown.

With continued growth in the region, our client is seeking a capable Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support project delivery from tender through to completion.

This role suits a practical, delivery-focused QS who enjoys working closely with site teams and taking ownership of project cost control and commercial outcomes.

About the Role

As a key member of the commercial team, you’ll be responsible for supporting the financial, contractual and cost management of construction projects, ensuring budgets, programme and quality expectations are met.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing project budgets, forecasting and cost reporting
• Preparing and assessing progress claims and final accounts
• Managing subcontractor procurement, variations and payments
• Supporting tender, pre-contract and post-contract activities
• Maintaining project financial control systems and reporting
• Working closely with Project Managers and site teams
• Assisting with extension of time and acceleration claims
• Supporting defect rectification and maintenance periods
• Ensuring compliance with contract documentation and procedures
• Contributing to strong safety, quality and sustainability outcomes

About You

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial construction
• Strong understanding of project cost control and forecasting
• Exposure to tendering and subcontractor procurement processes
• Ability to interpret drawings, contracts and specifications
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational capability
• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction
• Contractor-side experience preferred
