Job Description

We’re partnering with a well-established civil construction contractor delivering a range of infrastructure projects across Auckland and the wider region.

Due to continued workload, our client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Civil Estimator to support tender pricing and pre-contract activities across civil works including earthworks, drainage, structures and associated infrastructure.

This role suits someone who already has estimating experience and wants to grow within a high-performing civil team.

About the Role

Working closely with senior estimators, project managers and construction teams, you’ll be involved in the full tendering process.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing civil construction estimates and tender submissions
• Measuring quantities and reviewing drawings and specifications
• Pricing labour, plant, materials and subcontractor packages
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing
• Assisting with risk assessment and value engineering
• Supporting handover from tender to delivery teams
• Maintaining cost databases and benchmarking information

About You

You’ll ideally bring:

• 4–5+ years’ experience in civil construction estimating (indicative)
• Exposure to civil works such as earthworks, drainage or structures
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Civil engineering or quantity surveying background preferred
• NZ civil construction experience preferred
