Our client is a leading, self-performing civil construction company known for delivering complex, high-value infrastructure projects that make a real difference in local communities. With a strong pipeline of work in the Auckland region, they’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join their Auckland team.

About the role:
As Project Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and delivering major civil projects across Auckland. You’ll support the Project Manager with technical expertise, drive program performance and ensure every aspect of the project meets quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, programming, and sequencing of works to achieve project milestones.

• Coordinate site activities and technical requirements with crews and subcontractors.

• Review design documentation and provide on-site technical solutions.

• Monitor progress, quality, and compliance with project specifications and standards.

• Prepare and maintain project reporting and site documentation.

• Support procurement processes, cost control, and variation management.

• Drive a strong health & safety culture on site and ensure best practices are upheld.

• 6+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer on civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical background in three waters Infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of NZS3910 and relevant construction standards.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with site teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering quality outcomes.
