Job Description

About the Business

Our client is a well-established residential and light commercial construction company with a growing in-house civil division supporting their current build projects.

With a solid reputation in the construction sector and 6 months of secured internal civil pipeline already in place, they are now ready to take the next step — transforming this civil arm into a standalone, revenue-generating business unit.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role where you’ll have real influence, autonomy, and the chance to shape the future of a civil operation from the ground up — while backed by the stability and resources of a successful construction business.

The Opportunity

As Civil Manager, you’ll lead and grow the existing small civil team while delivering projects end-to-end.

Initially, the focus will be on servicing internal projects, but the long-term vision is to expand externally — building client relationships, securing new work, and establishing a strong market presence.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on — someone who can win work, build relationships, and still roll up their sleeves to deliver quality civil projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the civil division
• Manage civil projects from planning through to completion
• Develop relationships with developers, contractors, councils and consultants
• Identify and secure new civil opportunities externally
• Grow and mentor the civil team as the division expands
• Oversee budgets, programmes, quality and H&S performance
• Work closely with the wider construction business to support internal projects

About You

You’ll likely bring:

• Strong civil construction experience (earthworks, drainage, infrastructure or similar)
• Proven project management capability
• A commercial mindset with business development confidence
• Existing industry relationships (or the ability to build them quickly)
• Leadership experience or readiness to step into a senior role
• A proactive, driven and growth-focused approach

This role would suit a motivated Project Manager or Senior Supervisor ready to step up — or an experienced Civil Manager looking to build something of their own within a supported environment.
