Project Manager – Civil Construction

We are a well-established civil construction contractor delivering infrastructure projects exclusively within the Hawke’s Bay region.
This is a delivery-focused, hands-on environment not corporate where Project Managers are trusted to run their work, lead teams and take ownership of outcomes.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of civil construction projects.
You will manage projects end-to-end, overseeing programme, cost, contract, safety and quality performance, while providing leadership to Project Engineers, Supervisors and site crews.
This role suits someone who is confident managing both the commercial and operational sides of civil projects and enjoys being actively involved in delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Full lifecycle management of civil construction projects
Programme development, sequencing and delivery planning
Commercial management including cost control, forecasting and variations
Contract administration (NZS3910 / NZS3916 experience beneficial)
Leadership and mentoring of Project Engineers and site leadership
Resource planning across labour, plant and subcontractors
Client, consultant and stakeholder relationship management
Ensure strong health, safety, environmental and quality outcomes
Accurate project reporting and financial tracking
About You
Solid experience as a Project Manager in civil construction
Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost control
Broad civil capability across three waters, roading and earthworks
Confident leading teams and making delivery decisions
Practical, accountable and solutions-driven leadership style
