Project Manager – Civil / Land Development 

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to deliver civil and land development projects based in Tauranga. This role would suit someone with a civil engineering background (or strong technical civil experience) who is comfortable managing projects end-to-end — from planning and documentation through to on-site delivery.

You’ll be responsible for commercial performance, programme, quality, and site leadership, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients.

This is a hands-on role with a balance of office-based project control and on-site management.

Key responsibilities

• End-to-end delivery of civil and land development projects

• Contract administration under NZS 3910

• Managing claims, variations and progress payments

• Programme management using MS Project

• Cost tracking, forecasting and commercial reporting

• On-site leadership of supervisors, crews and subcontractors

• Technical input across three waters infrastructure

• Survey coordination and understanding of set-out requirements

• Preparation and maintenance of management documentation

• General admin including H&S, QA and training records

• Liaison with clients, consultants and stakeholders

What we’re looking for

• Project Manager experience in civil construction / land development

• Civil engineering qualification preferred (or equivalent experience)

• Strong knowledge of NZS 3910, claims & variations

• Solid technical understanding of three waters

• Confident managing projects on site and in the office

• Strong organisational and documentation skills

• Good IT capability, including MS Project

• Practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills
