Join a well-established civil construction team delivering high-quality infrastructure, land development and three waters projects across Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty. This role suits an experienced Excavator Operator who is practical, reliable, and happy to get stuck in on site beyond just operating.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to work on a range of civil construction projects including earthworks, drainage, roading, infrastructure and land development.

You’ll be operating excavators across a variety of sites and conditions, working alongside foremen, supervisors and crews who value teamwork and a good work ethic. While this is primarily an excavator role, experience operating other machinery and a willingness to help out on the ground when required is a big plus.

This is long-term, stable work with a company that runs well-organised sites and takes pride in delivering quality projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently across civil construction projects
• Carry out bulk and detailed earthworks, trenching, drainage and backfilling
• Assist with general site works when required
• Support site teams with set-out, materials handling and clean-up
• Operate other machinery where competent (loaders, rollers, skid steers, etc.)
• Maintain machinery and keep plant in good working order
• Follow all health & safety, environmental and quality procedures
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and site crews

About You

• Proven excavator operating experience in civil construction
• Comfortable working across earthworks, drainage, roading or infrastructure projects
• Experience operating other machinery is an advantage
• Practical, hands-on attitude — happy to jump in and help where needed
• Reliable, punctual and takes pride in quality workmanship
• Strong understanding of site safety and safe operating practices
• WTR endorsement required
• Class 2 (or higher) licence is an advantage
