My client is an industry leader in bulk earthworks, drainage and infrastructure delivery. Weve partnered to find them a highly practical and motivated Project Manager to join their team in the Hawke’s Bay.
Important: Please note this is a hands-on Project Manager role — you’ll be expected to spend significant time on site and must have proven contractor-side delivery experience. This is not a purely client-side or consultancy position.

Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale civil projects including bulk earthworks, drainage, roading and three-waters infrastructure.
Take ownership of programme performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality and safety standards.
Drive productivity and efficiency by planning construction sequencing, monitoring daily outputs and optimising resource allocation
Lead, mentor and coordinate site supervisors, working foremen and crews of 5–10+ people to ensure strong on-site performance
Manage procurement, subcontractors and budgets to deliver commercially successful outcomes
Produce accurate progress reports, forecasting and cost tracking, using project management software and site-based systems
Liaise closely with engineers, clients and key stakeholders to solve technical challenges and maintain strong project relationships
Proven experience managing civil infrastructure projects, bulk earthworks, drainage, utilities, or land development essential
Highly practical, hands-on leader with the ability to operate confidently on site as well as manage the commercial and reporting side
Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies, production planning and sequencing
Results-focused mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for improved performance and profitability
Proficiency with project systems, reporting tools and site documentation
Self-motivated, proactive and solutions-focused with a commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
