We’re looking for a skilled Drainlayer / Water Technician to join a high-performing civil construction team delivering essential three waters infrastructure across Hawke’s Bay.
You’ll be part of a hands-on crew installing and maintaining stormwater, wastewater, and potable water systems, everything from concrete stormwater pipes and manholes to watermains and hydrant networks.

You’ll be responsible for installing and maintaining underground services including stormwater, sewer, and potable water networks, across subdivision and civil infrastructure projects.
The work involves trenching, laying pipes, compacting, and ensuring all installations meet design and quality standards. You’ll work closely with site supervisors and foremen to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Install concrete, PVC, and PE pipes for stormwater, wastewater, and watermain systems
Set out and construct manholes, chambers, hydrants, valves, and fittings
Carry out trenching, backfilling, and compaction to required standards
Operate and maintain small plant and civil equipment
Read and interpret plans, ensuring correct grades, alignments, and levels
Work collaboratively with foremen, engineers, and fellow crew members
Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental practices
Proven experience in civil drainage or watermain installation
Experience installing stormwater, wastewater, and watermain systems
Ability to read and understand civil plans and specifications
Competency in using tools, plant, and equipment safely and effectively
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Registered Drainlayer or working towards certification (advantageous)
Full NZ driver’s licence required
