Construction Manager – Career Pathway to General Manager

Location: Papamoa, Bay of Plenty
Salary: $130–$150k + Vehicle + Laptop + Phone + Potential Bonuses

This is more than just another Construction Manager role. 323 Recruitment is looking for an experienced and ambitious Construction Manager on behalf of a well-established commercial construction company in the Bay of Plenty.

If you’re a proven construction leader who’s ready to step up, this position gives you the chance to run major projects now and build your pathway into a General Manager role as the business continues to expand.

You’ll be the driver behind planning, coordination and delivery of commercial construction projects from start to finish. Working directly with the Director, you’ll be hands-on with both site management and project administration, making sure everything runs safely, on time, on budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and manage day-to-day construction activities across multiple projects

• Champion health & safety and ensure compliance with all NZ codes and regulations

• Lead and mentor staff, subcontractors and suppliers

• Monitor quality, budgets and programmes to deliver outstanding outcomes

• Be the go-to contact for clients, consultants and stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, or Site Manager in commercial construction.

• Strong knowledge of NZ building codes, health & safety, and contract law

• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage small teams and multiple subcontractors

• Financial and project management acumen and a proactive, hands-on approach
