We are seeking an experienced Site Manager / Site Foreman to lead land development projects for a respected, self-performing civil contractor in Manawatū. You’ll run the day-to-day delivery on subdivisions and associated civil works, backed by a capable crew, reliable plant, and supportive leadership.
Own day-to-day site operations and productivity
Lead and mentor crews and subcontractors; assign and track daily tasks
Plan short-term programmes, look-aheads, and sequencing of works
Coordinate earthworks, drainage, and services installations (water, wastewater, stormwater, utilities)
Read and interpret plans and specifications; manage set-out with surveyors/engineers
Run pre-starts and toolbox talks; drive HSE, environmental and quality compliance
Manage plant, materials and deliveries; keep clear site records and QA checks
Liaise with clients, councils, engineers and suppliers; report progress and risks
5+ years as a Foreman/Supervisor running crews on land development/civil sites
Strong experience across earthworks, drainage, and services
Proven organiser of daily tasks, crews and resources with a calm, hands-on style
Confident reading drawings, setting priorities, and solving problems on site
Solid understanding of HSE and quality requirements
Full NZ driver’s licence; WTR, STMS/TMO, machine tickets or Class 2 are a plus
Lead meaningful land development and civil projects with a self-performing team
