Job Description

Field Service Technician - Compressed Air

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, technical problem-solving, and delivering high-quality work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform service, repairs, and preventative maintenance on air compressors and related systems

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on-site and in the workshop

  • Maintain professional communication and relationships with customers

  • Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and P&ID drawings

  • Complete accurate service reports, timesheets, and compliance documentation

  • Operate and maintain a company service vehicle and tools

  • Follow all relevant health and safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)


What We’re Looking For

We’re open to candidates from a variety of mechanical or electrical trades. Experience in any of the following areas is highly valuable:

Mechanical Experience

  • Servicing pumps, fans, motors, gearboxes, or engines (petrol/diesel)

  • Shaft alignment (using dial indicators or laser tools)

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance

  • Pneumatics, hydraulics, and component assembly/disassembly

  • Use of calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and other precision tools

Electrical Experience

  • AC motors, starters, contactors (single and three-phase)

  • Control panel wiring and troubleshooting

  • VFDs, soft starters, relays, and limit switches

  • Electrical fault-finding using multimeters, clamp meters, etc.

  • Working safely to electrical standards in industrial environments


Preferred Industry Backgrounds

We welcome applicants with experience in:

  • HVAC (especially commercial systems)

  • Industrial or plant maintenance

  • Oil and gas or petrochemical maintenance

  • Field service roles in pumps, generators, chillers, or hydraulics

  • Marine engineering or ship-based mechanical systems

  • Military trade backgrounds (mechanical or electrical)

  • Heavy equipment service (construction, mining, agriculture)
