Machine Operator – Civil Drainage

Auckland | $90k–$100k + Ute (for the right person)

We’re after a skilled Machine Operator who can do it all — from bulk earthworks to detailed trenching — with a strong understanding of drainage, safety, and working around live services. You’ll be part of a solid crew working on 3-waters civil projects across Auckland.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to jump out of the cab when needed, work closely with the team, and always keep safety front of mind — especially when trenching with shields or boxes in play.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Operating excavators for trenching, bulk earthworks, backfilling, and drainage installs

• Working on stormwater, wastewater, and watermain infrastructure

• Digging around services with care and accuracy

• Setting up and working with trench shields

• Assisting with sitework when needed — no passengers here

• Keeping the job running safe, smooth, and on spec

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong earthworks and drainage experience (5+ years preferred)

• Confident trenching operator — clean digs, good eye, and safe setup

• Solid understanding of trenching safety, working with shields, and site protocols

• WTR + Class 2 licence minimum (Class 4 a bonus)

• Safety-conscious, reliable, and a genuine team player
