Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Customer/Shipper Account Manager to join our team. This role involves managing and nurturing relationships with our customers and shippers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Rate Expertise & Rate Quotation: Maintain a deep understanding of current market rates for various load types and effectively utilize this knowledge to prepare and send competitive rate quotations for load bidding, optimizing both client value and company profitability.
- Proactive Problem Solving & Solutions Provision: Identify, analyze, and swiftly provide effective solutions for complex logistical issues, operational challenges, and unforeseen problems that may arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the supply chain.
- End-to-End Load Management: Oversee the entire load lifecycle, including efficient load building, meticulous track and trace activities to monitor shipments in real-time, and support sales efforts by understanding client needs and offering appropriate logistical solutions.
- Comprehensive Logistics Operations Knowledge: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all facets of logistics operations, from planning and execution to delivery and post-delivery processes, ensuring seamless workflow and efficiency.
- Claims Management: Efficiently and effectively handle all aspects of claims, from initial documentation and investigation to resolution, ensuring fair outcomes and maintaining strong client and carrier relationships.
- Customer Relationship Building & Maintenance: Proactively cultivate and nurture strong, long-term relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring their evolving needs are consistently met with exceptional service.
- Data-Driven Service Improvement: Analyze and interpret data derived from customer scores and feedback, translating these insights into actionable strategies to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Operational Flexibility & Responsiveness: Maintain high availability and flexibility to adapt to varying schedules, urgent requests, and be readily available on-call as needed to address critical operational demands.
- Accurate Purchase Order Verification: Meticulously check and verify Purchase Orders (POs) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, ensuring all details align with load requirements and financial protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a comprehensive logistics role with a strong understanding of freight market rates and rate quotation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective solutions for complex operational and customer issues.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with load building, track and trace systems, and sales support functions within logistics.
- Solid understanding of overall logistics operations and supply chain management principles.
- Experience in handling claims, including investigation, documentation, and resolution.
- Exceptional skills in building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Proficiency in interpreting and leveraging data from customer performance scores for service enhancement.
- Highly flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules, with the ability to be on-call as required.
- Meticulous attention to detail with proven ability to properly check Purchase Orders (POs).
- Strong communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
