Job Title: Collections Supervisor

Job Description:

The Collections Supervisor oversees the collections team, ensuring efficient and timely recovery of outstanding accounts while maintaining positive customer relationships. This role involves managing collection strategies, monitoring team performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:
1. Team Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the collections team to achieve department goals.
- Train staff on collection techniques, policies, and compliance regulations.
- Conducted performance evaluations and provided coaching for improvement.

2. Collection Strategy & Operations:
- Develop and implement effective collection strategies to reduce delinquencies.
- Monitor outstanding accounts and prioritize collection efforts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, state/federal regulations (e.g., FDCPA), and industry best practices.

3. Customer & Client Relations:
- Handle escalated collection disputes and negotiate payment arrangements.
- Maintain professional communication with customers while ensuring timely debt recovery.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve account issues.

4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track collection metrics (e.g., DSO, aging reports, recovery rates) and provide reports to management.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve collections performance.

5. Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all collection activities comply with legal and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collection activities and customer interactions.

6. Process Improvement & System Management
- Identify areas for process optimization and implement best practices.
- Work with IT and finance teams to improve collection systems and automation tools.

Skills and Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in collections, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of collections regulations (e.g., FDCPA, CFPB guidelines).
- Proficiency in collections software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific platforms).
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and implement effective collection strategies.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in collections or a similar role.
