The North Carolina Community Colleges Foundation seeks a visionary leader, experienced manager and skilled fundraiser for its first Chief Advancement Officer (CAO). The CAO will lead the Foundation in becoming an active fundraising partner with the State Board of Community Colleges and the North Carolina Community College System. With the Executive Director, the CAO will build and implement a new advancement office that includes all major development functions and will create and strengthen long-term relationships with foundation, corporate, and individual stakeholders. The CAO will also be a key participant in the Foundation’s upcoming comprehensive campaign to empower today’s learners, build tomorrow’s talent pipelines, and deliver North Carolina’s next-generation workforce.
The successful candidate will be hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree or equivalent and have at least seven years of successfully leading a fundraising program; a record of success in achieving or exceeding ambitious revenue targets; and enthusiastic personal commitment to the mission and vision of NC Community Colleges.
The Foundation is based in Raleigh, NC, and the role will be hybrid with frequent local and statewide and occasional national travel.
