• Position Summary

The Estimator plays a critical role in the success of our projects by providing comprehensive cost analysis during all project phases, from early budgeting to final bid submission. The Estimator must possess strong technical knowledge of construction practices, be capable of assessing project risks and opportunities, and translate complex construction documents into accurate, competitive, and profitable cost proposals. The role demands a high degree of collaboration across internal departments, including project management, design, manufacturing, procurement, and finance, to ensure precise estimates aligned with strategic business goals.

      Essential Duties & Responsibilities

      ▪ Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop detailed project estimates.
      ▪ Develop and maintain organized and itemized estimates including quantity takeoffs, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor scopes, and indirect costs.
      ▪ Identify and analyze cost risks, project challenges, and potential value engineering opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
      ▪ Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate scopes of work, production schedules, and constructability assumptions.
      ▪ Issue Request for Proposals (RFPs) and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
      ▪ Engage with design and manufacturing teams during the early stages of project development to inform design decisions with cost insights and maintain budgets.
      ▪ Support bid preparation, including detailed bid tabulations, presentations for leadership review, and final bid submission packages.
      ▪ Maintain historical project cost databases and benchmarking data to refine pricing strategies and support continuous improvement.
      ▪ Participate in project hand-off meetings to ensure seamless transition from estimating to operations teams.
      ▪ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior estimators, fostering professional growth and consistency in estimating practices.
